Religious Education Information & Registration

As parents and Godparents, we accepted, at baptism, the responsibility “to assist the one baptized in living the Christian life and fulfilling the obligations flowing from it” (CCL).  Children are to be enrolled in a Religious Education Program beginning in the 1st Grade through 12th Grade.

Our Parish proudly fulfills its mission in the complete nurturing and faithful formation of our children through our Religious Education Program.  We offer English-language Religious Education classes for children 6th – 12th grades on Sunday afternoons.  These are regular, grade-level Religious Education classes meant to continue the baptismal commitment to grow in faith.  One year of regular R.E. classes is required before a student can participate in the Confirmation classes.

Children in grades 9 – 12 who have not been baptized or received First Communion must participate in Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults/Youth (RCIAy) program that prepares them to celebrate baptism and/or reconciliation and first communion and confirmation at the end of the two years.

Confirmation

Students are confirmed during 10th or 11th grade.  If your child attended Religious Education classes in for the last two years, you may use the form below to register for Confirmation.  A copy of the child’s birth and baptismal certificates must be presented at the time of registration.

Theology of the Body

Students in 6th grade thru the 9th grade receiving the sacrament of Confirmation will participate in a one-semester course on Pope John Paul II’s Theology of the Body for Teens.  During this class the students will come to appreciate their bodies and sexuality as precious gifts from God to be honored and cherished throughout life.

Prayer

Does your 7th grader find it easy to pray? Is prayer an integral part of his/her day? Does he/she hear God’s voice in his/her daily life, and know how to respond accordingly? If the answer is “no” and you desire an intimate relationship with God for your child, then sign them up for this session. Help your child go beyond learning to “say prayers” and move beyond recitation to an authentic conversation with God.

T3 - Bringing the Fullness of Christ to Our Youth

For students in 8th grade. Making an Impact
The Teen Timeline—or T3, is the teen version of the revolutionary Great Adventure Bible Timeline learning system that hundreds of thousands of Catholic adults have used to learn the Bible. This is the youth Bible study that is making scripture come alive for Catholic teens. It shows the “big picture” of salvation history and relates it practically and directly to the lives of our Catholic youth. For the first time, teens will begin to wrap their minds and hearts around the Scriptures and see the Bible as a relevant part of their lives.
